ABSTRACT
In the Oriskany sand area there were 16 wells completed or drilling at the end of the year compared with 20 in 1948. There were no new discoveries. Total Oriskany gas production was 1,425,000 MCF. Medina gas fields had 37 well completions. In the oil fields there were 860 wells drilled compared with 1,742 in 1948. Total oil production for the year was 4,398,000 barrels. There were 5 deep exploratory tests drilled, all unsuccessful. Six shallow tests were drilled. Some geophysical work was done with special emphasis on deep reflections.
