The paper deals with the geological history of the island of Curacao in the Lesser Antilles. The Pleistocene coral limestones and the outstanding dip slopes formed by them are discussed and the conclusion is reached that the dip slopes represent the original dip of coral reefs rather than evidence of folding. Several stages of uplift and subsidence are connected with the formation of the coral limestones. Two upper Eocene formations, one of them new, are described, and finally an attempt is made to correlate the geological histories of Curacao and western Venezuela.
