It shows the trend in the number of college students majoring in geology in the United States and the placement of those leaving school during the calendar year, 1946. The latest figures are for January, 1947. In considering the chart, it should be remembered that the figures as of January, 1947, include only the enrollment in the first semester of those colleges using the two-semester systems, and the enrollment for the second quarter of those colleges using the quarter system.
