Some months ago, at the request of O. A. Seager of the Carter Oil Company, B. B. Bradish sent the writer a small piece of core from Billings, Montana, stating that it was from a deep well north of the Black Hills. Because of the graptolites in the core, information that it represented the equivalent of a zone 150 feet above the base of the Viola limestone on West Spring Creek in the Western part of the Arbuckle Mountains was sent at once.
