The writer wishes strongly to recommend the usage of what he has termed “the samplograph” for purposes of subsurface correlations. It first came to his attention in the geological department of the Tidal Oil Company, and was originated by H. S. Thomas, of that company, he having first used it about two years ago at Rolla, Missouri.
