This super basin special issue completes a quartet of special issues showcasing great basins from “the four corners” of the compass. With this issue, we achieve the 5-yr goal of creating a collection of reference material for explorers. These four special issues feature basin case studies forming an analogue playbook for approximately 20 of the world’s greatest petroleum basins. We provide these papers as a foundation for explorers to revisit as technology and insights create new opportunities.
