Operations near Kerens, northeast of the Powell field, on the East Bazette structure, were begun in the spring of 1924 by the Boyd Oil Company now Humphreys Corporation, and three deep wells, whose locations were based on surface geology, were drilled in the Morris Webb Survey (see Plate 26.)
